Stock 06 Audiophile w Steering Wheel control ?

Am I the only one frustrated by the fact that my steering wheel control will not advance to the next preset station like the owners manuel says. It wlill only go to the next strongest station in AM/FM or the next station in line in Sat mode.IMO this control is usless it goes to the next preset. The owner manuel says it works this way but my dealer says it is a misprint.

that's strange -i have the audiophile in my 04 and the button moves to the next preset?

seems pretty stupid for them to have changed it.

as a side note: have you used the mp3 capabilities yet? what do you think? i have been thinking about buying one of the newer units for the mp3 abilities.

thanks,
Caanan

same here. My 04 you hit the mem button with the little music note next to it and it goes to the next preset station.

I need to look at a 04 vs. 06. I don't think my 06 has a mem button on the steering wheel controls,just vol,source and seek up/dn.
Did they change something?

They changed in 05. 04 is the only radios that skip to the next preset. All 05s and 06s go to the next radio station.

That's the way my '05 KR audiophile unit works. Kinda aggravating.

This basically makes the steering wheel controls for the radio useless. I just traded in my 04 for a 06 and can't believe they made such a stupid change! I am going to push for lemon law if they don't re-program the radio to work as the manual states. Or they can print a new page for the manual for all of us!

To Gman SC and TeamREV...i checked my 06 with audiophile mp3 and it does just as it says it will do in the owners manual. if you press and release the button on the steering wheel, it goes to the next preset...if you press and hold, it goes to the next strongest station such as in seek mode....try it

More mystery. My '05 with the factory 6 disc Audiophile setup also goes to the next pre-set station when you hit the steering wheel button. Truck was built late Oct '04.

I have an 04

I HATE that it goes to the next preset, when we are on the road none of the presets work, so the steering wheel button is useless

we were surveyed when we purchased the truck, that stupid button, and the cheap feeling shifter were what we complained about

Medic,

You must have the only 06 that works as the manual states.
Every Ford authorized audio repair facility and Ford Audio themselves state that it is a mis-print in the manual. If you have one that goes to your 6 favorite stations you let me know if you can get the number off of the back and I will have ford replace mine with the same one.
