Stock CD changer questions

Looking for experienced advise regarding my stock CD changer.
I'm getting a "no CD" message when CDs are loaded, and it doesn't always eject the cartridge when the button is depressed.
Can it be repaired?, or should I consider it 'toast'.

Is it the in-dash unit?

Similar problem

Was playing and putting CDs in and taking out. Kept getting "ERROR" or "no CD" of something (don't remember), Finally found out CD was stuck somewhere between coming out and and going in (slipted out of CD grabbing mechanism). What I did was, while the cd player was off, stick another CD in and fished it out. Acutally it happened on accident-the fishing out that is? Good Luck. Other option is to take it apart if not under warrenty. CD must be stuck somewhere in there!
