04' Lariat - I want my MP3 player

I see the 06's, not sure about the 05's, having a MP3 player. Ugh.. I asked a buddy of mine that works for Ford about replacing mine, he said around $1200 then suggested I should go aftermarket. The only problem is, going aftermarket, not sure if there is one that will allow me to control the radio via steering wheel.

Any aftermarket radios/CD/Mp3 players that will tie into the factory steering wheel?

You can pick up the factory Audiophile systems on ebay, for very little money.

If you want to keep your steering wheel controls, there are adapters, but I like the factory system better.

Be extra careful on e-bay. I have picked up three headunits on e-bay for these trucks and there was a problem with each one. One was just bad cosmetics, but the two six changers were non-functional. This is very common on these units from e-bay. Seems to be pretty specific to our years/models.

Not saying you can't get a good deal there, just saying to be sure to deal with someone that has good feedback, understands the radio and be sure to buy in some way to give yourself a return possibility.

There are kits to allow many aftermarket headunits to work with steering wheel controls.

Most medium to high priced units have a method.

Get yourself an Alpine head unit and this http://www.crutchfield.com/S-rGuhalc...ol&i=127SWIALP. My cousin has this in her Expedition and loves it. Works just like OEM.

Thanks for the info...
I'm now looking at the Sony MEX-1GP... One gig or memory in the face plate...
Now trying to see if they have that adaptor, like you just showed me so I can still use the controls on my steering wheel..
