This is my first post here, this looks like the best forum for factory radios.
How hard is this going to be? I really want to stick with a factory radio. Less chance of theft/clean look. From pictures I've seen online, it looks like the main plug is the same. My radio may, or probably does not have the other 2 plugs. I haven't recieved the tool yet to remove it. My truck does not have a factory sub or anything like that.
The new radio I have has the following options:
SAT (already found the XM kit to make that work)
CD/AUX (is there a kit for this?)
It controlled a subwoofer at least., is there a wiring harness for the sub out?
It looks like Metra makes adapters for aftermarket radios to a factory harness, do they make pig tails for factory radios? I can't find their website.
My old CD-6 has some issues, and I want to upgrade. The new Escape radios are the same style as the older ones.
Worst case it will go into my wife's escape, she has the same radio, just no MP3. Probably a direct fit.
