Angry They got me :(

Last Monday I left work & saw I had a big dent in my door.... opened door & it got better they stole my Alpine head unit. Appears they tested for Alarm with a whack to my door, then used screwdriver to jam through the lock. But it gets better still! they used something to pry the center trim off & in the process messed up the outer area where the 2 center ac vents are...

Truck is in shop right now over $3500 in damages for a cd player. Having to have a whole dash installed as besides the center trim & glove box ford only sells complete dash... Not to happy about having a 10 month old truck taken apart that far! Truck was about 75 ft from glass office windows ( not our office) & the 10th & last car on row with spaces on both sides of it... I told our crack golf cart security force they might want to text message less & watch cars closer ... the project are about a block away

Oh even better is last monday was my 1 month mark on new job... soo my 1st paycheck with raise goes in insurance deductable!

this weekend getting new head unit ( not sure what) & paging alarm system ... luckily my amps & everything else is behind rear seat or bolted to floor...

That sucks, sorry to hear that. I have a 2 way alarm w/ lcd screen and it works great. Hopefully they try it again and someone beats them down before the cops get to them.

Doh!! Dude that sucks..and I feel for you... A couple years ago, I used to own a 86 Gta Trans-Am... was nice.. had a decent head unit in it.. and amps. (in rear).. Well.. No kidding.. but that day, wife and I were driving around.. and stopped at wal-mart... bought armageddon the sound track. Well we had it in the player... and decided to go see the movie itself, which was playing at the local theater. We parked in the Lighted parking lot..and went in at around 9:35pm showing.. and around midnight...exited the theater.... while my wife and I were walking to the car... (only a small handfull left in the lot)... I noticed and (felt) something was wrong.. I could see what looked to be glass from a distance (almost as soon as we walked out of the theater)... and omg..the sinking feeling I had, I remember it well.. sure enough.. we get to within a few feet of the car.. and the passenger door glass was all OVER the place inside and outside, and on the ground.... the Head Unit was LITERALLY ripped out.. and the red AMP wire must have been cut by the broken glass, because it was lying on the passenger seat, and proceeding into the aft of the car. (They never took my Amps or Subs though)... so needless to say.. My insurance company wanted to charge me 500 deductible... for a $40.00 window.. and a Head Unit I could prob replace for 200... and to top it all off, they got our NEW CD too of the movie we just watched! ARGH!! I was pissed.. SO yea.. needless to say..I feel your pain.. and all this was in MAINE!.. (Supposedly the safest place). I ended up doing the same as you.. bought an alarm, and installed it.. and (REPLACING A POWER window on that year was a PITA!)... but I hope I don't go through that anytime again soon...

Best of luck... (btw, the cops told me it was probably a college initiation!! wtf! No chance of recovery...

yeah a alarm will be installed this weekend... with the paging lcd keychain etc..

since everything is kinda stealth in my truck minus the headunit i figured the nice lil blinking llight on dash for keyless entry would be enough... guess i was wrong ...

Yep it sucks... I had my faceplate and remote stolen out of my van (the one I traded in for the truck) right out of my DRIVEWAY!!

And we'd only lived in our new house for 2 1/2 months when it happened!!

Fastest garage clean out I'd ever done...

I need a good alarm on my truck now... I'm getting the itch for an aftermarket HU.

I too feel your pain! About three weeks someone decide to jam a screwdriver in both my key holes and get theirself a new stereo. I had the JVC avx1 and a panasonic overhead. They took their time to take the dash apart correctly and just cut the wires to make it easier. They tried to take my whole truck but the screwdriver was not a good fit for a key. I now have a viper 791 installed, little to late..lol. All this was done in my drive way while I was sleeping. I now have a 12 gauge waiting for my alarm to sound......ha!

Got truck back yesterday & seems they did a good job on dent & dash.. since I have no radio it was nice to hear no rattles or squeeks on the 40 min trip to & from work on all sorts of roads...

Sat I am getting alarm installed before I put the radio in. Probably gonna pay extra for one that pages me so I can know when they want my radio at work..

Also the body shop gave me my old dash & the framing etc..worth $1400... sell it for $400 obo has a 1 inch scratch between the center bezel & right center ac vent... anyone need on for custom interior mods ???

earlier in the year my friend & i were in class when his alarm remote started goin off, we both play baseball & we had out bags with us, we both grabbed a bat & ran to his truck & when we got there 3 people had broken into his truck (in the school parking lot) one of em had the hu, & the other two were tryin to rip the amps & subs out of the back. when they saw us they dropped everything & his hu broke, but he broke his bat over tha guy, luckily for them the school cop came out before we could get ahold of the other 2
