Question on burning MP3's from Audio CD's

I'm wanting to start burning MP3's from my audio CD's to play in my Eclipse NAV HU

I want some easy to deal with, thats works good.. in other words, I don't want to be dealing with bad burns from cheap software.....

what software do you guys recommend ???

I use iTunes and Nero and have never had a problem with either.

honestly itunes is the better choice because it is free and easy. All you have to do is go into burn and import settings and change both formats to mp3. Then all you do is select and burn

I have used dozens of software packages, and very little difference in result. The main trick is to rip the MP3 files at 192-224 Kbps. Not at the default of 128.

At 128 it sounds like FM radio.
At 192-224 it sounds like a CD.

The size of the MP3 file is larger at the larger bit rate but still quite a bit smaller than the Wave files you start with. A regular CD will hold 100-125 large high quality MP3 files. Or 10-15 original wave files. Or 200+ 128 bit MP3's.

You will usually find that 125 is a lot of music. About what you can hold in a changer.

Some people can not hear the music well enough to differentiate 128-224, but many can.

The variable bit rate programs like MusicMatch compress well, sound good, but sometimes the files are not compatible with all players.
320 Kbps sounds best, but is not a lot smaller than the stock Wave files.
