Shaker 500 in an F150

I have a friend who just got an 06 Mustang with the Shaker 500 system. He replaced the entire system and has the Headunit for sale. It looks as though it would connect right up with mine, However, I wouldn't truly know unless I took some things apart. He wants 50$ for it so what Im wondering is whether or not it would be worth it. I have the stock 6cd MP3 H/U with 6x9 3 way pioneers and a JLW3 w/ a Boston acoustics amp under the backseat.
I know, I know, I should go for a better aftermarket H/U, however, with me being home for a month then gone for a month and our patrol schedule, I would rather wait to get something that I could enjoy more.
So whats your opinion(s) and what are the differences between the 500 H/U and mine? Thanks!!

Well for $50 it is worth a try.. If it doesnt fit then you can easily sell that cd player for $150 on Ebay...

I have put a 2006 Mustang Head unit in a 2004 F150, direct swap. Not the shaker, just one marked MP3. I drove it around for a couple days, the sound was not as good as a top aftermarket but better than the stock CD. I was pleased to find that the 06 MP3 deck did not skip on bumps like some of the earlier ones.
50 bucks is good if the unit isn't marked up.

Im hoping that it will work, but what I really want to know is if the Shaker 500 has a seperate subwoofer control in the menu. If it does then I will definitly get it. However, Im just not sure how to go about hooking up my sub and amp to the H/U. Right now I have to get an RCA converter to run my sub off of my factory H/U. Any thoughts?
