Exclamation dimmer wire

i just bought a new HU and it doesn't have a dimmer wire and it's just to damn bright. any suggestions or am i screwed?
oh it's a dual xmdr7700 unit.

there is probably a dimmer built into the cd player... I have a Pioneer and in the options on the deck there is a dimmer..

I did that with a 525 Kenwood. On my 2004 STX the head unit sits so high that driving at night required me to turn off the radio or toss a towel or something over it.
I even took the faceplate apart and added window film over the LCD panel, but then you couldn't see it in bright sunlight.
I couldn't tolerate it so I swapped the unit off.

On the Dual, you can run it with the first face plate closed, can't you? You wouldn't be able to see the info but it would at least play.
