Which HU has easy ipod controls?

I'm ready to get rid of the stock HU and step up to something with more power and better sound. I would also like to have the capability to plug in an ipod when I finally buy one. I've been looking at some of the Alpines (the 9856 mostly), but after reading some of the reviews I'm not sure if I'll end up liking it. Anyone have any suggestions? I just want to try and get one I like from the start instead of having to swap it out for another.

I just removed my Alpine 9855 yesterday, and installed in it's place a 9857, and I must say I love it! The 9855 was a better deck, but the Glide Touch bar you have to use to navigate sucks big fat donkey balls. The 9857 sounds excellent, has a very easy interface, and the iPod controls are exceptional!

I highly recommend the 9857.

Saw a Panansonic with a front mounted headphone type jack for AUX input,, so an iPod could plug in.

Just got the 9856 installed tonight. I'm glad I went with my gut (and listened to all of you). This thing rocks! My Infinity's sound so much better now. I haven't even had a chance to play with all the controls and options, but I can tell I'm going to really like it especially since it only cost me $90 shipped from Crutchfield (I had 2 gift cards and used Tardman's referral code so I got $120 off).

I agree 100% on the 9857! What more could you want? This deck blows the slide bar verson out of the water. They lost the slider because it was a on going complaint in 05.
