Volume on factory HU

I have a factory HU with the speed control volume. I know how to turn it off, but when it is off or on at idle there is not alot of volume from the HU. With the speed control on level 7 and going about 65 mph the volume is good. Is it possible to mod this unit to get the max volumne output with the speed control turned off?

When it is truely 'off' the volume does not change regardless of speed.

I have to say this is one option I found useless anyway.
When I used it, I was constantly playing with the volume knob and the 'option' was constantly playing with the volume too.

It was me against the machine.

I'd guess that the 'option' isn't really 'off' if you can hear it well at speed and the volume is too low at idle.

Ditto, it doesn't have any effect on the volume when turned off.

I got sick of fighting it, so I just turned the stupid thing off.

It seems to work pretty well for me. Are you sure you don't have it set too high? The higher the setting, the quieter it will be at idle.
