2004 F150 6 Disc Audiophile to MP3 6 disc...

I have a 2004 F-150 SuperCrew with the 6 Disc Audiophile head unit. I would like to place the Ford 6 Disc MP3 head unit with Audiophile which came out in 2005-2006 MY.

Is this possible; just Plug & Play?

Yep - It's plug and play. I can't speak for 2006 (haven't seen one yet), but all connectors are the same between 04 and 05.

Question Mp3's

Hey Yellow,

There is an Aux on the 04. This doesn't work for mp3 players??
If not I would be interested in doing the same, what are you looking at for cost on this ???

Thanks in advance,
Scott

You can hook up one of the P.I.E. adaptors to the 04 if you want to add an external MP3 player:

I think YellowFX is looking to have in dash MP3 capability.

Same adaptor should do the job for all versions as long as the button says AUX. From the PIE website:

Quote:
The new part is compatible with the following Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury OEM "CAN-BUS" radios with "AUX" button: FORD LINCOLN F-150 2004-2005 Focus 2005 Mark LT 2006 F-250 2005 Freestyle 2005 F-350 2005 Five hundred 2005 MERCURY F-550 2005 Mustang 2005 Montego 2005 But not compatible if vehicle is equipped with OEM Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) system, navigation, or factory satellite radio.
No mention of specific CD arrangements.

Sorry a guy already bought it. so neglect the bottom

you can have my headunit for 25 dollars plus shipping. Its the 2005 audiophile 6 disk mp3 black thing. Got a whole new sytem being installed on tuesday if you can wait that long. Only had that truck for 4 months so the thing is new. I just dont see the point for saving it.
