Unhappy Cd won't eject from stock head unit !

Hey all,

I have a 2000 F150 and recently obtained a used stock Ford CD player to replace my broken tape deck. Installation was easy. But I found that the CD deck already had a CD in it. Pushing the eject button lead to various noises inside the unit, then the words "eject error" on the display. If I push the "CD" button, it says "NO CD".

The guy that gave me the CD player is a friend, and told me that he took the deck out of his Crown Vic about 4 years ago. He didn't know that a CD was stuck in there. I was able to take the faceplate off and see the CD inside, but couldn't pull it out. I reattached the faceplate, hit eject, then quickly pulled the faceplate off and retrieve the stuck CD. I put another CD in, but the same problem still happens.

Is the unit bad, or can it still be salvaged? Just wondering if anybody here has had the same problem.

I have a 00 f-150 as well but i have not had that particular problem.....however i have had issues with the cd player not reading an CDR during the hot days that we have had this summer ( Texas ).....I don't think that repairing your particular player is the best option....since they can easily be had for cheap on ebay......

CD prob..

Well... I messed around with it as much as I could, but still have the problem. However, I found the "sweet spot" on my dashboard that'll eject the CD with a heavy handed smack down. I guess I'll use that method for now...after all, i bought the cd player for $50.

curtietang, i know what you mean bout the Texas heat. I'm in San Antonio...it got up to 103 degrees yesterday. Bleah!

Dont be scared to take that thing apart!Open up the top of the case and see if theres something blocking it from ejecting.I wouldnt be beating on my dash for too long before I take it apart!
