Are 4X4 and HD fenders the same?

I bought an 02 HD that was repossessed. It had been vandalized and wrecked (no frame damage). It needs new fenders. Someone told me the front fenders on 4X4s and HD's are the same? Is it so?

as long as the 4X4 had the wheel moldings then you are OK, you have to get the fenders with the wheel molding holes

my 2000 xlt 4x4 has the fender flares and the paint code is the same
