This is some great timing... i'm in
Also, I believe the oven trick doesn't work for the 2009-2011 trucks, they need to be cut open. I'll probably send mine out because of this and use a FX-R projector so that I can use a D2S bulb like my other vehicles use. If I had a 2004-2008 truck I'd use the mini H1 and do it myself without a second thought. Those lights can be opened using the oven trick.

This is a DIY project... I am comfortable doing it on my 2011, but you should check out for yourself the process of doing it on earlier trucks. The MH1 in all likelyhood is the best bet for the older trucks as well though...
Nothing official yet. Will update when we set up the formal GB
No problem... you can pick whatever kits/lights/bulbs/shrouds you want.

Its a retrofit. Its a cut and paste job. You can install it on any vehicle. From a 1909 Ford Model T to a John Deere Tractor. As long as it has 12vDC, you can make it fit.
See above.
Actually, all OEM lights can be used with the oven set to 260* and varying timing. Ford uses whats called PermaSeal on the headlights. Its very tricky but can be done. It would be easier to use aftermarket headlights, however.
Mini H1s are smaller and use the less common H1 HID bulb. The FX-R is an all around better projector utilizing the more common D2S bulb.
A FX-R will fit just fine in your headlights. Fog lights may require something smaller.
See above.

What makes it "very tricky"? I have an IR thermometer, so I can approach, but stay below the acrylic melting point. Will this make it less tricky? I haven't seen any high quality aftermarket headlights.

Yes sire the 03s as well as a ton of cars use the same FXR kit for retrofits....
Check out the website and look at the retrofit gallery.
X2 above....
And lastly DAMN YOU GUYS!
I just bought TWO complete FXR stage 3 kits in the last month.
Had i known we were doing a group buy i would have been in and added +2 to the list.....
Oh well, i dont think my work/ timeline/ customers could wait for a group by to by fiinalized anyway.
Im currently finishing up a 2010 Platinum and soon to get the parts for an 07 FX4.
FYI
group buy or not, trs has a 10% off this week only while they are moving from ohio to atlanta, just a heads up.
glad to see so much eagerness to doing HIDs the right way!
Great job folks, you will not be disappointed!
