New Group Buy on Troyer Performance Custom tuning!

Hello All,

We have been getting requests for a Group Buy on our Troyer Performance custom tuning for months - many members want to have the advantage of the very best F-150 custom tuning available. We had to give long & careful consideration as to how we could implement a Group Buy on custom tuning - traditionally, custom tuning hasn't lent itself to this due to the inherent nature of custom work. But we think we've been able to provide a Group Buy that will work well. So after consultation with the Webmaster, we are now offering a Group Buy to all registered members of F-150 Online.

Here are the details:

1) The Group Buy starts immediately - we are already closed for business today (Tuesday the 31st), so in practical terms, you can start calling in your orders for the Group Buy first thing at 9 am Wednesday morning, February 1st.

2) The Group Buy is for our Troyer Performance custom tuning delivered in the XCalibrator 2, loaded with your choice of 3 different custom tunes. The price is just $379 *including* shipping to the 48 states, for 1996 & newer gas engine FoMoCo vehicles, including Lightnings & Harleys!

3) Orders to Alaska, Hawaii & Canada will only be charged the additional difference to get your shipment to those locations.

4) This price ALSO includes adjustments required *based on proper datalogging as per our documentation* that is provided to us within 60 days of receipt of your custom tuning, provided NO additional changes are made to the vehicle - this is as per our normal policy. We encourage you to have your custom tuning dialed in spot-on by doing the datalogging as per our instructions, which will be sent via email to everyone who places their order - and we'll be happy to help anyone with their datalogging.

5) Those who ALREADY have your orders in for custom tuning that have not yet shipped are automatically included - you automatically get the $379 price, you don't have to do anything, you're already included!

Note: You already know if you are included in that group of people, because you will not yet have received an email from us with the tracking # for your shipment - so you don't need to post or send emails asking if you are included, because you already know - if you already have an order in with us and have not gotten an email with your shipment tracking number, then you are automatically included.

6) For those who have ALREADY purchased their Troyer Performance custom tuning during the entire month of January and your tuning has ALREADY shipped (again, you know who you are because you either already have your tuning, or you already received the email & your tracking number), you will all be given a $50 in-store credit towards any purchase of at least that same amount (not including shipping) with us at Troyer Performance - that way even those who recently purchased their custom tuning will get a nice unexpected bonus!

7) Those of you with aftermarket (non-factory) superchargers installed on stock engines (meaning no "built" motors) - we will be happy to include you in this Group Buy, at a slightly higher price. Because each aftermarket supercharger setup is highly customized and therefore tend to be different from each other, we will quote your Group Buy price on a case-by-case basis over the phone - but in all cases, it will be less than our normal pricing for providing 3 custom tunes for an aftermarket-supercharged vehicle!

8) Those few who have outstanding orders for multiple items, like our combo deals - a tuner and an intake - or our tuning & larger fuel injectors & a MAF, etc - are not included in this Group Buy, as those multiple item orders have already received the advantage of very aggressive pricing, as we do for all who call us to order multiple items at the same time.

9) This will not be strictly limited to F-150's alone - if you have an Expedition, F-250, Mustang, or other modern (1996 & up) gas-engine FoMoCo vehicle, we'll be happy to include that vehicle in our Group Buy if at all possible!

10) We have tried to foresee any possible contingencies, but if something else comes up that needs to be taken into consideration, we will post any updates for all to see right here - speaking of which, for those with questions on this Group Buy regarding aspects not already covered in this post, we ask that you PLEASE CALL US at (540) 862-9515 instead of posting each of the individual the questions here, only because this Group Buy will create even heavier demand for our custom tuning so it's unlikely we'll have time to type out individual replies each day. So please call us with questions, & anything that needs to be known to all we'll make known in updates so that everyone can get that info here in one place, and in a timely manner for anything of consequence.

Thanks to all for your support, & let's make this a great Group Buy for everyone who has wanted our Troyer Performance custom tuning in the XCalibrator 2!

Mike,

YOU ROCK!!!

This is a great bargain. If anybody was on the fence about getting one, just wait one sec. while I come up behind you and kick you straight off of it.

Something I did want to ask you Mike, I am thinking of putting a big vinyl decal across the top of my windshield that says Troyer Performance.

What are your thoughts on this?

It will be your last name up there so I just wanted to make sure that you are ok with it before I go and do it.

Rock Krusher.

THis might not be the right thread to ask...

I've been thinking of purchasing one...

I have a bone stock truck.

A. Should I even bother.
B. SHould I attempt to get Ford to flash prior to purchasing?

C. I have a 92 Mustang...same question...has gears, exchaust...is it worth it?

Thanks.

Gosh Mike, now you're making me decide between my wood and leather steering wheel and XCal2. Geese, now this going to be a tough call.

I'm in the same boat as well. My truck is stock right down to the OEM replacement paper air filter. If I were to purchase an XCAL2, and later on add an exhaust to my truck, would there be any readjusting required for the XCAL? How much would it cost?

Hi Quintin;

For an otherwise stock truck, an exhaust is usually no cause for concern tuning-wise. I reviewed some posts that talk to that. As long as it's not too radical - cat removal, O2 deletes, etc, of course

It's the aftermarket intakes ( and really, any intake mods, homegrown or otherwise) that need scrutiny and may require adjusting tunes for (induced) lean conditions, if it's not already running too lean from the factory as some of these late models appear to be doing.

Anyways, if you buy one, then mod the truck & datalog it within the 60 day free tune adjustment window, you are good to go. If it's after that, please call Mike.

Good luck!

Cheers

How are you guys testing the A/F ratios? I really can't afford a dyno too, so my datalogging would be incomplete without the A/F ratios. Is there a cheaper way? I somehow doubt everyone who does the needed datalogging is also jumping on a dyno.

Hiya Duke

Actually, the dyno is your least expensive route, or it should be. Most folks seem to be spending less than $150 for the required # of pulls for power & A/F's, with you doing the datalogging on the X2/laptop.

Some guys, me included, sprung for the LM-1 for A/F's instead - it would pay for itself if you would be expecting multiple dyno visits due to subsequent/ongoing modding, but I personally went that route because I was not having much luck with the local facilities, basically.

Plus, I really like toys, & hobbies need no other justification . You can get 'em from Mike: http://www.troyerperformance.com/cgi...ory=Appearance

Cheers

Duke, when you get the data logging instructions it clarifies the concern you have of an alternate method

Hi JP;

I don't have my new revised docs yet, just the original ones, but are you referring to the O2 voltages? My undestanding was this was only for folks who were in the boonies without a facility within a couple hundred miles or so...

Duke, are you one of those guys?

Cheers

Is that with buying a A/F ratio logger? Because that would be more expensive that doing two dyno sessions.

I'm just trying to figure out the entire cost of this endeavor before the purchase. Could you let me in on what the instructions suggest as a cheaper option? I apologize if I've missed this in my searches of the chips forum.

I'm not out in the boonies, just trying to keep costs down. The extra cost on the dyno might make this something I'll have to hold off on doing. I know it's a great deal on the XCal2 and tunes, but once you add the $150 for a dyno, the full cost of tuning is $529. Once again, totally not knocking the price, just saying that it still might be out of my reach if I have to pay $150 for a dyno. Though the $379 is something I'd love to do for the XCal2.

Thanks fellas,

Duke
