Question Need to find out how many of you would want a custom gauge pod?

Thread on my gauge pod.

Talked to my friend that made this pod for me, and told him a few people would be interested in buying them. He said he might be willing to do it.

If you are interested how much would you be willing to pay for it?

I think that the concept is awesome -- and definitely needed.

But with all due respect to Sharpshooter, I do not like this particular implementation at all. It simply doesn't look OEM like the pillar pods.

To look OEM, it would need to be:
(1) taller, so the gauges fit down into it
(2) steeper face, so the gauges would be flush with the front
(3) textured, so that it could be coated with dye to match the rest of the dashboard

Alternatively, something that slips over or replaces the airbag cover would also appeal to me.

Rig something up like that, and I've got a hundred or two that I'd drop on it.

LightningGuy,

He would need your dash to make it. Its just the top piece that goes around your radio and has the cig lighter cover in it.

Doug,

Im not real clear on the GP rules, and I understand fully if this thread needs to be moved or deleted.

The real purpose of this thread right now is to find out if it would be worth making a mold for this gauge pod.

If it turns out that enough people would be interested then I guess I could put together a GP. I know your taking my word, but I can promise you that I will make nothing off this, and for the initial amount of labor that my friend has to put into it he will barely be making minium wage.

Tim,

OEM is what I had in mind when I told my friend what I wanted. I'm not sure I understand the first 2 of your 3 points. The 3rd makes perfect sense, to have it textured like the factory dash would look great, and wouldn't be hard to do. I think the texture that we have is just like paint, you could probably just spray it on.

Vinnie,
email sent.

-Mike

The only thing I'd be worried about would be shipping such a bulky piece like that.

Mike

The rules are at the top of this forum.
Group Purchase Forum Rules

Hope you understand that we have people all the time who are simply "guaging interest " who in fact are selling tens or hundreds of the product mentioned in the thread.
