Question of the Week: Are Ford vehicles a family affair?

For our newest Question of the Week, we want to know if your choice to buy an F150 was due to a parent or grandparent driving one?

Also, if you have kids old enough to drive, do they drive Ford products?

Most of my Uncles drove Fords..Mercury's and some Lincolns. The Ford dealer I bought my last two trucks from has been in business for close to a hundred years, plus it's the only car dealer in town. My Dad had some GM stock back in the 60's (when it was worth something) so we drove mostly GM vehicles back then. Two of my son in laws drive Ford pickups and really like them so far. I guess they took Father in laws advice!!

Not at all -- my dad was a dyed-in-the-wool GM man. He drove Chevy's up until the early-80's, after which he could afford to move up to Oldsmobile's and later, Buick's. When he retired in the early-90's he was all set to finally buy his Cadillac, but my mom nipped that dream in the bud because she thought they were too haughty!

I was more of a Chrysler fan growing up because of a next door neighbor who made his living restoring late-50's Mopar's, but became a Ford enthusiast over 20 years ago after buying my first Ford Ranger and having such a good experience with that little truck!

While I would not rule-out the possibility of owning another brand (I've always wanted to own a 2-door Jeep Wrangler and think some of the new Buick's are pretty nice) I'm very happy being a "Ford Family" because every one I have owned has been such a reliable vehicle!

Now own a vehicle outside of the Big Three? Not likely to happen even though I fully understand that you can make an argument that some of these vehicles are just as "Amercan" as a Ford.

My dad was a Chevy guy.. I myself have owned lots of cars and trucks only settling on Fords in the last 15 years or so. I use vans for work and the Ford vans are so much better it aint funny. About 15 years ago I started working on restoring a 71 Mach I as well. But before that I had owned lots of different brands.

When I was a kid, my parents owned mostly Fords and for a while I actually lived about a half mile down the street from the Cleveland engine plant. Since I've been old enough to buy my own vehicles, I've only purchased one non ford vehicle, a 2001 chevy cavaleir. Even when I buy used vehicles, I still buy fords. My current stable is all ford

My dad has been Ford since the 50's. Only time he didn't have a ford was his 70 Challenger 440. He daily drives a Mercedes M Class but has plenty of fords sitting in the garage.

I have always had a Ford since i was 16 years old, Tried GM a few times for work trucks and it never worked out. The only exception is my 04 cavalier, that little car has been pretty amazing. Bought it for 1500 bucks, Runs great and is flat out reliable so far with 164000 miles on it.
