Spike TV's powerblock is no more

Spike TV decided to take the network in a different direction and cancelled powerblock. Since all 4 shows were owned and produced by RTM productions, they changed the names and format around and the new shows will now be on CBS sports on the weekends and on NBC sports during the week.

Powerblock is now PowerNation
Extreme 4x4 now becomes Extreme off road
Horsepower is now Engine power
Trucks is now Truck Tech
Musclecar is now Detroit Muscle

After a few weeks of not having powerblock, spike has realized their mistake so they will also air the new shows only on Sunday mornings.

If you go to powerblocktv.com you can get the new schedule and what channel they are on and times.

In other words, just like before, they cannot figure out what the want to do. Used to be TNN, then with the switch over to Spike TV, Power Block was about the only thing on that was watchable, not counting a few reruns from the networks. Now probably there will be nothing watchable.

From what I understand, Spike TV has renegotiated with RTM productions and they will air the new shows, but only on Sunday mornings.

This whole mess started because the contract between Spike and RTM expired and initially spike decided not to renew. After seeing the huge ratings drop the first few weeks of Dec the have seen the error of their ways. So starting on Sunday Jan 5 spike will have all 4 shows (under the new name and format) back on. Actually only on Sundays you can watch all 4 shows twice, CBS sports will air them from 6-8 AM and spike will have them from 9-11 AM

For those that have dish network like I do, CBS sports is channel 158, and NBC sports is channel 159

Love my PowerBlock.

Interesting staffing changes throughout the years though.

I haven't seen any new GEARZ lately either, I gotta look into that.

Gearz can be found on MAVTV, although I have not seen any new shows. All the ones I have seen listed there are from 2009.
