Let me just put my 2 cents ion. I don't understand this same with the Virginia Tech attack. Why the heck do these people not pay attention to the se warning signs. On the radio about an hour ago on my way home from my brother's apartment, I heard them say that he converted to the Muslim religion. He repeatedly said he did not want to fight and got into arguments with the soldiers. They would apparently discuss his odd behaviors, his un patriotic statements and yet nothing was done. I'm dumbfounded on this one guys. He IS an ANGRY CONVERTED MUSLIM IN THE US MILITARY!!! How the hell does no one look into this. I'm not racist, but come one, that must raise some eyebrows when the guy is saying he doesn't want to be deployed and fight. Apparently he was hoping Obama was going to pull out and when more troops started to be deployed he hit the roof and the result is this mess. Idk, the VT thing same way. Disturbed kid in school writing bizarre things and no one seems to say "what's wrong with this?" "Why is this kid/soldier acting so strangely?" I jsut don't get it and another case where intervention MIGHT, not definitely, but MIGHT have helped this situation and possibly prevent it. Sign are signs IMO and security of that many people... something should have been done.
The problem nowadays is that everyone is so damn sensitive about having their rights violated or their privacy intruded upon, that a lot of places are scared to cross that line even if the signs are there because they might get sued. Not to mention that I'm sure personnel and budget shortages play a part in the lack of action.
I'm not surprised he's still in the military. It's not easy to kick someone out, especially a field grade officer that is a Doctor. Both of which are sorely needed by the military.
I'm surprised something like this hasn't happened sooner. When you operate at the tempo that the Army has for so many consecutive years, bad things will eventually happen.
Then i think of all these soldiers assigned to that base and they are not allowed to be armed and they are just sitting ducks. They should have a huge response team there at the ready 24/7 365.
Hab's and the rest of you guys thanks for having my back on this one.
I understood exactly how you meant it, and no thanks required.
On another note, this is a crappy time to be one of the 2,000 Muslim men and women who are currently serving in the military.
I mean what the heck do you do?, and how do people not get nervous and uptight, especially after something of this magnitude happening right on a US base.
To say it's a delicate and complication situation is an understatement.
If I were a Muslim in the US military, I'd be changing my name to "Rick James", getting a tattoo, and maybe an earring to boot. What a messed up situation.

The last 2 sentences from the article,
"Muslim terrorist wannabes are busted again and again. And we’re assured that "Islam’s a religion of peace."
I guarantee you that the Obama administration’s non-response to the Ft. Hood attack will mock the memory of our dead."

He's right, the silence is deafening.
So what should our response be? Whom do we attack this time?
