yes I love my truck even more now.

well i gave my statement to both ins. companies and since my ins. is covering 80% of the hospital bills, his ins. offered to pay the other 20% OR send me a check for $500 on the spot. i told them to let me find out what the bill is first.

then afterwards i went to his insurance co's adjuster's body shop. he said there is so much structural damage to the underside that he would get back to me on the estimate. i think he may be making some stuff up since he knew ins. was paying for 100% of it, but eh. then my ins. adjuster cam out, took a few pics and told me Esurance (my ins. agency) would get back to me.

so now i play the waiting game. no matter, i am (legally) high off my butt right now.

$500? No. Get your medical bills together (what was charged, not what was paid). Then send that to his ins co, your auto ins co & BCBS. Argue that you have to pay them back (your auto ins co, plus BCBS), but I dont know FL law, so check on it. Still, make sure you receive a check for 100% of your medical charges, PLUS some. Then negotiate reimbursement w/BCBS & your auto ins co.

Dude, this sounds like my accident awhile ago. It was wet out and I spun for second and the lady behind me ran the red light and hit me doing around 30. It made me spin out fly arcross the street jump the median and hit the other ditch hard. I got out and her car was just compeletly smashed, so I freaked out and ran around back and there was nothing but a small paint mark on the hitch and a small bumper crease. Wasn't enough to get a new bumper I would of got a rollpan.

Crap!

Well the appraiser from his insurance company gave me a call letting me know that it's going to take some time until he can get an estimate due to the fact he found a lot of hidden damage. Such as this nice crease in my bed I found when I rolled up my bedliner:

I bent down beneath the truck and sure enough the crease is right above where the hitch meets the frame. So the hitch took most of the impact and transferred it into the body. I'm curious as to how they are going to fix this.

truck is totaled man, its gonna need a frame. If you have body damage in the center of the bed you have frame damage. Sorry dude, this isnt looking good at all

They can easily fix frames... it's not a big deal at all.

Heck, I've seen rangers around with bent frames...

It looks like the truck is trying to go sideways, but it cant...

just be ready, i thought i was safe with my first wreck thinking it wouldnt total, next thing i know is they tell me its a total loss and ive got a matter of a day or two left with it.

I would honestly be surprised if they dont total it, im not saying its not rebuildable, but in the case more then likely damage > value

Fml....

So today I got on my hands and knees. Found this:

Looking at the right bed rail you can see the slight droop.

Left (less severe) frame rail and hitch attach point.

Right (most severe) frame rail and resultant damage from hitch attach point.

Still waiting for that magic number to appear in my inbox. My insurance(to my knowledge) is paying 80% of my medical bills. His insurance offered me either the remainder 20% of the bills or a lump-sum check of $500. My back decided to start hurting again a few days ago but I think it was just a flair. Should I feel more pain I am going to a chiropractor or sports doctor to get it looked at. So more than likely that 20% > $500. But we'll see.

I feel sick

I agree with Patrick, and with the pictures posted above, I'd start pulling stuff off Alex. That part of te frame won't be able to be fixed without cutting it off and such. I'm sorry, but it doesn't look good. Maybe start searching for another oxford white 98? Or maybe upgrade.

I'm hoping for the best though.
