THE FORBIDDEN QUESTION-What did you drive before your F150 and was it a Ford?
This is my first truck and first Ford. I love it and wouldn't go back to the dark side with non Ford vehicles. I am 34 and have only had several vehicles.
88 Camaro,98 Camaro and a 01 Cherokee. If I ever traded my truck it would be for another Ford truck as well. When you get married and have a house a truck is handy to have for things that come up. Which brings up my question what else did you have before your F150?
I have my anti-flame suit on just in case this thread bites me in the butt for asking such a thing!

I've had 5 Fords myself, and 1 Honda when I was going to college several years ago.
'79 F 100 Custom (sold-too much money for a 19 year old to put a new motor and trans in it)
'97 Explorer XLT (totalled after 10 months of ownership)
'98 Explorer Limited (sold after I bought my '05)
'05 F 150 XLT 4x4(stolen after 18 payments)
'06 F 150 FX4

- First car 1994 Escort
- Next a 2002 Mazda Miata
- Then traded in 1994 Escort for a 2005 Escape
- Then sold Escape (Private Sale), traded in Miata, and bought an 2008 F-150 FX4.
- Worked nice.. got rid of 2 4 cylinders to get a V8 !!
- Best choice I've made.
- I agree with your statement TheGreenMachine, when I got married and we bought our house, thought the Escape would do.. that worked fine until we really started on the never-ending home improvement project...Then time for a pick-up...

I traded in my '05 Hyundai Elantra (bought new) on my '06 F150 at a used car dealer this February.
It was a great car and there was nothing wrong with it but I decided that I wanted a truck.
Sometimes I miss the gas mileage (32 mpg) and the 5 speed but I really love my truck and it hauls my atv alot better than the car.

Lets see before my 03 FX4 , I Has a 93 F150 ,, before that I had a Ford Mustang 1980 Ghia Edition... then Before that I had a Ford F 250.. Then before that I had a Ford Van .. Then I had yet another mustang before that .. And when I was in Highschool I had a Mustang and a Ford Escort.... The Escort really became my sister's car when she got older.... Then My dad had a Thunderbird that I took to Prom ,,,Because my 67 stang back then was a real peice of yard art..

PJB4X4, I understand the gas mileage deal too. It seems a lot of people who have always had cars one day need a truck and get tired of having to borrow someone elses. Once they get one they never go back to a car. The mpg is a trade off though for a four wheeled tool you use a lot for different things.
