first vehicle was a ford

93 Ford ranger single cab shortbed 3.0L v6 manual (wrecked)
95 Dodge Ram 1500 single cab shortbed 3.9L v6 manual (wrecked)
98 Ford F-150 supercab shortbed 4.2L v6 manual.

seems to be a trend but i promise this one isnt getting wrecked. i was so pissed about the first too since i paid 3K of 5K for the first then insurance paid for the dodge 4.4K then insurance money went to rebuild the 98 and thats what i got from my dad when he got his 08.

Great thread.. You've all had some decent vehicles....
Especially Smokin's 64 Galaxy 500....that thing should've been able to blow though the Christmas trees...oh well...
My list:
1...66 Pontiac GTO ('70 GTO 400 eng.) 4:10's, 4 speed...sold to a restorer.
2...71 Volkswagon, just out of high school, to commute with.
3...69 Firebird, built 350, 3:55 posi, Sold
4...81 Merc. Capri 6 traded for my 1st new car.
5...85 Merc Capri 5.0 kept mint, sold (3rd owner called to thank me for keeping it in mint shape?)
6...88 F150 4x4, 302 sold out of lease for a small loss.
7...87 Econoline van (when self employed as electrical contractor)
8...94 F150 4x4 Flareside, XLT, big wheels, loved that truck but traded for current.
9...68 Mustang 289 Coupe...on going resto project (was my dads)
10...04 F150 XLT Scab, 4x4.

Quick Story; Speaking of cars you WISH you had.....
My oldest brother HAD an origional 1970 Shelby GT500, 428 SCJ, 39K mi, mint...
He offered it to me (in 1998) for $15,000.....
At the time, my daughter was 2, my wife was expecting #2, and we were in the process of moving into a new house....
He "offered" at a time when I didn't have ANY $$ to spare...DAMN
I should have found a way....
But as they say...it doesn't do you any good to live with regrets.

I know how you feel, my uncle had an original '67 Z-28 he bought new and sold it back in 72, didn't know how rare it was. My dad had a 66 fairlane GT, red, black interior, 390 big block and a 4 speed and my mom had a 57 ford skyliner (hard top convertible for those that don't know what it was) a 65 mustang convertible with a 'K' code 289 and a 4 speed, and a 69 AMX w/390 4 speed.

First car was a 1980-something Dodge Monaco, only mine way beige/bronze colored.

It was my dad's old car, I drove it for a couple years then the transmission went. So I got my mom's old car...

Turbocharged 1990 Plymouth Laser

It had an engine rebuild before I got it, then we had to replace the clutch. One day on the way to my Physics 205 exam the CV joint broke. Once in the shop they discovered several other issues so we sold it.

Since my grandpa used to work in the Ford Factory in Detroit, we could get good deals on fords, so we leased a 2000 Ford Ranger V6 with the Trailhead package.

Mine was red though. Great truck, turned it back in when the lease was up because it was too expensive to buy.

Bought a silver 2003 Ranger instead. Only this one was a manual with the little 4-banger, power nothing, but it was cheap!

When I graduated college I sold the Ranger to Carmax and got a couple grand to throw towards my current ride, a 2005 FX4.

Damn, Those are all nice cars! I do know about the Fairlanes....
Didn't the hard top have a REAR window that could retract?

2000 Ford Ranger, 3.0 V6, 2WD, short bed, regular cab. I wish I can erase that miserable 4 years from my life.

The fairlane looked just like the the 66 fairlane 427, but it didn't have the big snorkel hood and was street legal. I don't know if the skyliner had a retractable rear window or not, mom traded it in on the stang in 65, and I was born in 66.

I did a quick search and found this video, now my dads didn't have this hood, but it was a beast just like this one.
