Next Question. What is a good size tire to put on a 16 foot utility trailer? Dad has one with a bunch of stuff on it. It has special government tires on it that doesn't show size or anything. The trailer has sat for 10 years at a storage lot and the tires are shot.
I'm thinking a 225/75/15, does that sound about right?
He kept the wheels off his 1982 Dodge truck that he bought new and put them on the trailer, I did find that the OEM size with those wheels were 235/75/15.
If your not hauling max weight get the most affordable ones you can. I'd bet 99% of people will let them dry rot before they actually use them all up.

The tires actually aired up, checked the dot number on the tires and there were made in 2002. That means the trailer has been parked since late 02 early 03. I was going to put new tires on it, unload the stuff and have a nice trailer but after looking at all the heavy stuff in it I'm just going to take it to my parents house and park it under the carport. It'll probably sit another 10 years there
Guess it beats dad having to pay 300 every 6 months at the storage lot.
Should be getting my Decked truck bed storage system this week. First time i have ever had to deal with a freight company. Its taken a week to get from Ohio to Texas and now its in town, but no clue when i will get it. They haven't called to set up a time for delivery or anything yet.
