Meat in butcher paper...ok to freeze?
Long story short, I have a buttload of Mule Deer meat that I just got back from the butcher. It's wrapped in, are you ready?...butcher paper. Anyway, I just want to make sure this stuff will keep in the butcher paper in the freezer and not get freezer burned.
I have always vacuum sealed meat/fish, etc before freezing it.

I'll just head south, hopefully you will think enough of us that you will put out little signs pointing to your location.
Are you on the map at the top of the section?
I agree with the above, once you use what you are going to, just vac-pac the rest, I wouldn't even take it out of the paper, just throw the frozen wrapped piece in and suck&seal.
Butcher paper will last for several months with out any ill effects. the PITA is when you thaw it out, it leaks everywhere, so the ziplock bags or whatever will help with this problem.
