The bonehead teenagers have discovered that hitting their brakes while accelerating down a hill causes GIANT black marks on a driveway... The problem, it's my driveway.
I caught one of the little bastards going home tonight and asked him if he'd been around my house... of course, he answered no. I asked him, VERY polietly, to pass word on to his friends that I didn't mind them cutting through my yard (neighborhood behind mine) but the black marks were going to have to stop. He said he'd tell his buddies...
So, in the interim, I've documented the streaks with my digital camera and further documented two of them bolting through my yard with my digital camera...
Long story short, I need to figure out how to remove these forking 'burn out' marks going the length of my driveway...
Also, please note that my driveway is sealed so, using something really agressive (like gasoline) might damage the sealer... thoughts? Comments?
Unless your going to add your own with the KR I would just wait they should sun bleach out in a few days and with the rain on the way that should help too, heck its not like bike tires are made from the same quality as a set of Yokohama's so they shouldnt last long. by the way if you have kids this will come up again in the future so make a mental note.
The marks should just fade away after a few rainfalls.
You can easily prevent any further marks by stringing up a few lengths of thin venetian blind cords across your driveway at about neck height. Now there's an event to capture on your digital camera!
Collect up some of the neighborhood cats, every neighborhood has them except mine and the surrounding areas anyhow collect them up and store them in a box…

Having two of those little bastards myself, I have found Dawn detergent and a nylon brush to work wonders if I want them off immediately, otherwise I wait a few rains and they're all gone.
BTW, the little conversation you had with perpetrator number 1 should increase the tire marks in the next week or so.

LOL! I'll give the nylon brush and dawn a whirl if they don't vanish on their own. I don't get alot of sun on the driveway (good 'overhead' sun) but, it does get some. Maybe I'll have to help it along...
I don't think the conversation will contribute to more honestly. He was fine and I really wasn't a butthole (as bad as I wanted to be)... we'll see how it works out. There's a police officer that lives down the street... he's my wildcard as I know he'd help me out and at least scare the little twits...
Mind you, I was a good little teenager and can't recall doing anything of this nature to intentionally deface property but, I'm sure I did something along the line that this is direct 're-payment' for... just not sure what it was... I hope I had fun doing it because this is bugging the crap out of me...
Cruise down to your local Home Depot. In the buidling materials section they have what you need. Everything from Drive way repair to cleaner. Just ask an associate for help if you are unsure.
