My 1999 F250 Super Duty V10 Gas Not Diesel isn't running right

About a month ago, my v10 black smoke started coming out of the tailpipe at a stop light and no power. I pulled into a parking lot opened the hood and didn't notice anything wrong. Turned the truck off and a few minutes later turned it back on and it seemed to run fine. What happened?

Secondly, when I'm driving and I lightly press the gas pedal, it vibrates and feels like it's sputtering. What is wrong here?

Just an FYI, the check engine light is not on so I don't think I will be able to hook OBD scanner to it and get anything.

Thanks for any help

Do it anyway. On OBDI Super Duty systems, many DTCs are non-MIL.

Could be a sticking injector.

But the smoke wouldn't have been from that would it?

Is a sticking injector something that I can fix? Or should I take it to a shop?

I had this happen to a 2001 sport trac a few years ago and turned out to be that I somehow got some plastic sucked up in the intake covering the filter making it run too rich and zero power. Pulled it out and never another issue. It's a stretch, but worth a try.
