1997 f-250 5.4L neutral safety issue?

I've heard that a lot of Fords have this issue. I'm not sure if its the TRS (neutral safety switch) or what. My truck won't go into park/gear and will roll back (making noises) and won't start in park but will start in N The shifter doesn't go all the way into the P.

Can anyone help me fix this?
Perhaps with pictures? (I'm not mechanically inclined. but I was hoping to explain it to my dad who could fix it if he knew what it was.)

Check the bolts on the shifter tube in the steering column. They tend to loosen.

The shifter indicator knurled **** adjustment doesn't have a bearing on gear placement. You need to check and tighten the two brass colored T-35ish torqx screws under the column.

How do I access it? I'm not really mechanically inclined with cars.

Put yer head by the brake pedal looking up. Wiggle the shifter and you'll see the two torq screws moving around when they should be tight.
