05 grille for a 02 superduty

i have an 02 xl 7.3 superduty it has a black grille now and im wanting to swap it out for a crome grille but ive been looking around a little bit and i realy like the 05-07 stock grilles and i was wandering if anyone could tell me what the diffrence is from the 04 and older and 05 and newer

The 05-07 grilles are taller, other than that they are dimensionally the same as the 99-04 grilles. I actually had an 05 XL grill on my 99 for awhile. All the mounts are the same as well up top. You just have to modify the bottom mounts a little to make it work. You have to cut off about 1-1.5" of grill from the bottom. If you look on egay you can actually find the chrome 05-07 grilles already cut down to fit with the 99-04 trucks. If you don't modify the grille you have to get an 05-07 bumper.

If you have the XL headlights and go with the chrome I would consider updating the headlights also.

I've looked at the precut ones from MK....they're expensive tho. You could buy about 3 reg grilles for the price of a precut one incase you screw one up.

check if you have a certifit location near you.
