FL4x4-Do you have aftermarket gauges? I know the Edge has gauges built into it but should I invest in any other "pillar" mounted gauges? I know for the Edge I need to tap into the exhaust manifold to install the EGT probe.

Also, there is a diesel shop here in town that honors Ford warranties and is supposedly mod friendly

DIY 6637 intake. Haven't fixed the bed issue, but I'm in the process of dong that... although I haven't touched my donor bed in about 6 months.

I have an Edge insight, I believe its the same as your "attitude" display. It can display around 15-20 different parameters on our trucks.Pretty much any sensors the PCM reads the edge reads.

I have a 4" straight pipe and on the stock tune I can't even get the smallest puff of smoke, even on a smoke switch.

some of you guys sounds lame... and what i mean by that is your scared to put a friggin exhaust on your truck cause you might blow head gaskets?? please gtfo if you really believe that garbage... and unless theres a huge difference between the 04 and 05 6.0L, YOU SHOULD DEFINATLY GET AN AIR INTAKE!!!! i put an airaid intake on my dads 04 6.0 cc longbed, the throttle response after was amazing!!! oh and if you plan on running a tuner you dont need to worry about head gaskets at all, just the egr system. you need to just delete it and move on. im planing on running a SCT tunner X3, a 4" straight pipe exhaust, and eventually some mild injectors. head studs are the least of my worries and if it blows a gasket then ill do them then, but dont be so overly concernd with it that you dont upgrade you truck at all.. thats just plain stupid.

do you have any idea how expensive a head gasket job is??? do you know hard it is?

98% of people on this forum are not even capable of doing this job

learn your stuff, know your role, shut your mouth...

i know not to go with a tuner, getting mixed answers about an exhaust, and not really many answers about intake.

what kind of MPG increase/decrease did you see with the mods?
I'd say upgraded intercooler, intake and exhaust smoking isn't always a good thing and the less fogging you do the less tree huggers are gonna whine

okay garrett, i have a friend w/ a 6.0 4" straight pipe, intake and a bully dog triple dog downloader, while i dont recommend a bully dog i think you will be safe w/ a custom tune (diesel innovations in houston does badass work i here) an intake and exhaust are safe mods for pretty much any engine
