Intake's (SD n00b!)

Hey Guys, I have buddy of mine that has a '01 5.4 SD. He's looking for an intake for his truck to go along with his Exhaust and Edge. Is there any systems out there that's "the hot ticket?" I know for the F150's the AF1 gets mentioned alot, but I have NO IDEA whats good for the SD's.

Do it yourself intake if you're on a budget. If not, AFE Stage II.

Its a 5.4 gasser, so I wouldnt drop the cash on an AFE (unless money isnt an option). But an AFE is the ONLY acceptable aftermarket unit for a 6.0. My guess is that anything would be better than stock, I have several friends running K&N with no complaints.

Crap... Wish I would have read all of that. I saw 01 SD and assumed it was a 7.3. The DIY that I know of won't work on that (gas) truck.

Year doesnt matter. That would only apply to a diesel truck. Id just run whatever intake the F150 guys run on those year trucks, since its the same motor. But with a 7000 pound truck with 250 hp, Id save the money and forget about performance, or save up for a supercharger. Just my .02
