Tires rub on new F250...didn't on my old one.
Ok, so last week, I traded my 08 F250 for another 08 F250. I didn't want to spend another $1200 buying another set of 35" Toyo M/T's, so I had the dealer swap the wheels and tires from the old truck to the new one. The two trucks were almost identical, except for one option. The new one has the "stabilizer package" option. The old one did not. Apparently, the "stabilizer package" includes heavy duty front springs and an anti-sway bar in the rear. On the old truck, my tires NEVER rubbed...not once. Not offroad, not when cutting the wheels sharp to the side while turning, not while backing. Well, they rub on the new truck. They rub if I cut the wheel all the way to one side or the other while braking or going down a sharp incline and they rub when the wheel is turned all the way while backing up into a parking space. The only thing that I can think of is that the "stabilizer package" adds a component that is a little larger than the original and the tires are rubbing on that component. I looked to see where it was rubbing and could not tell. I will check again this afternoon and post up what I find out.

Ok, I know that nobody is interested, but I found more information about this that I find interesting. My truck has option 63B, which is the stabilizer package.
This description leads me to believe that if the stabilizer package were to cause a height difference, it would make the truck sit higher. My new truck does not sit any higher or lower, but the tires rub. I think I will go out to the parking lot and see where they are rubbing.
HEAVY SERVICE SUSPENSION PKG -inc: heavy service front springs *Recommended only on vehicles which will permanently utilize aftermarket equipment such as HD winches, brush guards or apparatus which loads the front axle to the specified GAWR* (N/A w/471 Camper Pkg, 473 Snow Plow Pkg or 63B Stabilizer Pkg) *May result in deterioration of ride quality. Vehicle ride height will increase with the addition of this package.*

Hopefully nothing falls off your truck, and hopefully it wasn't built on a Friday.

Nothing like a true and true "scissor" mod... reminds me of the Zoodad mod...

Freeky your running 35s on the factory rims right? I decided to sell that set of 22in Rockstars w/37 Nittos I had (I cleared $1K profit on them) now have a set of 22x11 Motometals with 335/55/22 BFG Mud Terrains on the way. Do you think a Donahoe 2.5in lift in the front would clear them (they are about a 36in tire)? And what about in the rear...would a F350 block be enough? As it is now my truck sets level...thats the way I want to keep it. I hate that front end higher than the rear look. Is the rear suspension on out trucks the same as 07s? I know a add a leaf and a F350 block would be plenty but I can only find add a leafs for 07s.
I really dont want to go 4in...so a 2.5 would be perfect if it would work. The truck will never be off road so I am not worried about rubbing while flexing the suspension.
