Tires rub on new F250...didn't on my old one.
Ok, so last week, I traded my 08 F250 for another 08 F250. I didn't want to spend another $1200 buying another set of 35" Toyo M/T's, so I had the dealer swap the wheels and tires from the old truck to the new one. The two trucks were almost identical, except for one option. The new one has the "stabilizer package" option. The old one did not. Apparently, the "stabilizer package" includes heavy duty front springs and an anti-sway bar in the rear. On the old truck, my tires NEVER rubbed...not once. Not offroad, not when cutting the wheels sharp to the side while turning, not while backing. Well, they rub on the new truck. They rub if I cut the wheel all the way to one side or the other while braking or going down a sharp incline and they rub when the wheel is turned all the way while backing up into a parking space. The only thing that I can think of is that the "stabilizer package" adds a component that is a little larger than the original and the tires are rubbing on that component. I looked to see where it was rubbing and could not tell. I will check again this afternoon and post up what I find out.
