1 Ton with a 3/4 Ton Badge!

Yes, Last week, I saw a 1 ton Sd with a 3/4 ton badge. It was in South Texas. The retiree was from Minnesota, and nesting in the warmer climate of South Padre in his camper trailer. He said that when he bought the 1 ton, his home owners association brought it to his attention that 1 tons were illegal, and he would have to sell it. The guy said he paid 60 bucks for new badges, and told his home owners association that he complied, and traded the 1 ton for the 3/4. I thought this was kinda funny, and felt the need to share.

I think they were trying to keep work trucks out of the neighborhood...but his was a lariat! His was white, with tan leather, and man was it sweet! Are there no cosmetic differences between the 1 ton and 3/4?

All the more reason to by a house that's not in some association. But someone's always going to try to regulate you in some way....

Hope he remembers to swap back the 350 badges when it's time to trade. The dealer wont be smart enough to understand why the VIN identifies a F350 but the badges say F250....

Yup...my homeowners ***ociation has the same dumb rule...Luckily I had just bought the F250 before we bought our home. I guess I would have done the same badge replacement if I had opted for the F350. Good luck trying that if it's a dually

At least I can still put an American Flag in front of my house!!

Other than the 'stinkin' badges ...No...if one is real keen though the F350 sits an inch or so higher in the rear than the F250.

Pretty sure the 'tards wouldn't have noticed even if it was a dually. Our HOA is totally fubar'd. I can't park my boat in the driveway unhooked for more than a day before I get a warning, yet the President of the HOA can park his craptastic catamaran sailboat thingy on the side of his house for weeks at a time.

They still build garages big enough to hold a CC LB truck? And in southern California?

He is a Bad, Bad, Bad, Californian...sell your 350 and buy a Prius.

Or move to Texas, and be welcomed with open arms.

Oh yeah, we can legally carry firearms in our vehicles now to.

the truck is bumper to bumper, the wife hates that. the only reason it fits height wise is because the drive way is sloped, so the cab slips in under the entrance by the time the back wheels are on flat ground. i think i will stay here and chance it with the hybrids. a prius tailgating is not all that terrifying, especially when you can't see it....

Yeah....I grew up in Newport Beach so the California thing is OK with me There were a few garages that housed some pretty awesome machines - 29' boats included. Hey, if you can do it - DO IT! It's the American privelege (for some)

In Michigan we can carry the loaded pistols and rifles too in our rides!. Concealed carry is a nice privelege for the law abiding American citizen - Unfortunately, goofy Cali laws and politics don't allow that!!

The Prius thing...yee gads!!! It can't tow 15k lbs (or anything for that matter)

the other benefit of a f-350 over a prius: the prius puts their blinker on to get over i don't move, i put my blinker on to get over the prius lets me over.
