Waranty confusion

Ok, I have been reading other forums and now I am confused.

What is the warranty on an 06 F250 PSD?

I have heard two different things. 1. Pending your build date, you would get the standard 3/36 or 2, you got the extended normal 3/36 on all but 100K on engine.

I bought my truck used with 9K miles on it, and my sales peson insisted that I only had a 3/36.

The reason I am asking is b/c I am thinking of buying an extended warranty.

Thoughts on that?

You should have this one. You can confirm it with your owners manual.

I think the 07's have a longer bumper to bumper warranty.

Ford made things really confusing during the 2006 model year. I think it's July 14th is the magic date in which Fords SOLD after this date got the longer powertrain warranty. Any Ford dealer can look up the "in service date" based on the VIN.

A diesel has an additional warranty covering, and this is what I'm not exactly sure about, the engine. Which is for 100K. I'm also unsure if there's a time limit to this. Diesel guys can correct my errors.

1 call to Ford Customer Service should clear up your questions, if the dealer wont help you.

The warranty on the diesel powertrain is 5yrs/100k from the in service date. During the 3yr/36k bumper to bumper warranty there is no charge for warranty repairs. After this warranty is up then whats left of the 5yr/100k warranty carries a $100 deductable per incident.

This is what I am referring to....how to confirm this is the trick. The sales guy said mine didn't qualify for the 100K engine so we argued about it for awhile.

Bypass the salesman and head straight to the service manager. Tell him what you're looking to find out. He should be able to enter the VIN and tell you everything you need to know.

Typically sales has little clue about all the details. They just have been trained to get you to say "I'll take it and where do I sign..."

Here's Fords Customer Service info of the fordvehicles site. If you don't want to talk with your dealer, call them and ask for some help regarding your warranty. If they confirm the warranty info you're expecting, see if they can fax you this information or mail it to you. Might be helpful when dealing with your dealer. Who knows...
