Fuel Economy, is there such a thing with 250's?

Hi everyone, I was just wondering what kind of fuel milage you were getting with F250's with the 6.0L turbo diesel engine. Would 10 or 12 be a safe guess or am I kidding my self?

Thanks,
Sean

An average fuel mileage would be 16mpg. Some get higher and some get lower

I get about 17.5 on the highway, and combined is about 16. It helps to use the block heater on a cold night.

On the highway, i have gotten as much as 21.6 on a trip, but sometimes on same trip, it may be around 19.5

Average combined driving: 18

Around town: as low as 15

This is on a 2005 F250 Full Cab, 4x4, short bed

I have tried the Diesel Kleen cetane boost, and I don't see where it helps mileage.

Overall, I feel I am fortunate on MPG compared to what others are seeing.

My combined is around 12
Pulling a 3500lb enclosed trailer combined is 9.5-10.5

I don't know how these guys get such good milage...I am disappointed

Everything I've heard about the 6.0 PSD is there are good one's and not so good one's. Fuel mileage really ranges all over the place, but in general, they aren't as good from a mileage perspective as most would like. Check out www.thedieselstop.com, you'll find folks as helpful as they are here, but they really know the PSD's...

You'll do better milage wise than the other available gasser engines. But you might do better price wise at current out of whack diesel prices.

Pulling my 36' Fifth Wheel, run around 12 on the freeway. Without the trailer, average 15 in town.

I get about 11.5-12 in town but that is with all cold start 5 mile commutes....On the highway unloaded at least 18 and loaded 20' tandem axlle bumper pull with 7500 pounds about 14.5 at 75 mph.

If I got as low as 10-12 towing my 7500# boat, I'd havea problem! I get 13-15.

Around town, commuter type driving I'm getting about 14.5-15. Hwy I get 18-21 depending on weather, wind etc. Most of the time it's about 19-20.

A co-worker has an '05 SRW F350 4x4 crew cab, and he claims that he gets about 20-22 mpg. All his commute is highway, and he doesn't tow anything. Another guy I know has an '05 F250 4x4 crew cab and regularly tows with his. I think he said he got like 13ish with his work trailer behind it, and after getting the EBP replaced and the PCM/TCM/FICM recalibrated for recall 05E15, it went up to like 16-17.

I get 12.5-13.5 in town and 18+ on the hwy. My Super Duty is 6.0L 4X4 6spd AT.

I drive with what I feel is a light foot.

How are y'all heavy footers out there doing mileage-wise?
