Hi, I'm having trouble diagnosing the problem after getting the P0708 code.
I have to drive it over 70 miles yesterday, and it has a noticeable stumble or misfire yet no limp home mode, no flashing OD light on shift lever.
I have looked at the position of Range selector switch while in neutral, and the marks are in alignment, I noted the reverse lights come on when shift lever is in R and I'm unable to start engine when the lever is positioned in R, Drive, etc. and I couldn't find my VOM but a quick probing with my test light I was able to find voltage on the harness side connector as well but not sure of the significance.
These seem to me to confirm the position switch/ sensor is OK,
I'm about to go inspect the wiring harness to look for damage after recent trouble from rats building nests under the hood without an invite! They have chewed things like the plastic harness cover, and vacuum lines on more than one occasion recently. I'm beginning to get so frustrated I might being going down the wrong path so please help get me back on track folks!
