1997 expedition 4.6l prob

So was wondering if anyone is going threw the same problem as me, did an oil change on my expedition and 600 miles later oil is low, it does not leak oil nor it doesn't burn it, and if it comes to me replacing the engine can I swap it out from an 04-08 f150 or expedition from those years. Thanks in advance

How many miles are on the engine? What is the history of the vehicle? Have you changed the PCV with a Motorcraft PCV?

I meant has it been serviced regularly and how has it been driven. I would definitely change the PCV with a Motorcraft. Others don't work so well on these engines. If the engine isn't leaking oil and oil is disappearing, it is burning the oil. These engines typically last much longer than 156k miles so the PCV is a strong suspect.

Does it smoke when you start it after sitting overnight? If so, that is an indication of bad valve seals or worn out valve guides.

Oh yes it has i service the engine oil every 3000 miles, and it did have a rough idle causing the engine to have a vibration, was going to change the spark plugs, and yes i notice when i back out first thing, that white smoke leaves the exhaust.

oil burning is light blue smoke. water is white. The exhaust system being cold on startup will condense the water in the exhaust and there will be white smoke on startup when the ambient temperature is cool. Replace that PCV and get back to us.
