Navi Suspension headache (yet again)

Hi people I am having one heck of a time trouble shooting my Navi Suspension issues . It is a 1999 Navigator, 4 wheel LLS, 5.4 L SOHC. The problem I am having is this. The suspension airs up no problem every time I start the vehicle. Then the suspension re adjusts approx 2 – 4 minutes later. I hear the compressor come on and go off. Within a few seconds after the compressor turns off the CK Susp light comes on. It does this every time I drive the truck. If I park it get out close the door, get back in the system will reset. I start driving and again same thing. Now I have been leaning towards the height sensor or the compressor being too weak and timing out. I would love some help on this. I have spent hours going through previous posts with no success. I want to keep the air ride as I tow my travel trailer with it. Thanks in advance

I meant to reply to your other thread on the other forum. When it threw the CK Susp light on, it apparently throws a code. That'd probably tell you exactly what the problem is. Problem is, I think only the dealer (or maybe a suspension shop?) can read the code. Not sure, maybe the computers at Autozone/Advanced/etc. can read them as well? Worth a try.

Ya that has been a thought for awhile now but I dread going to the Stealership. I was hoping for a solution before going to see them.

I got a '98 Navi, same truck as yours and I was having the exact same prob with mine. I tried to get the codes read and they wanted to charge me $100 to do it. Of course within a matter of days my compressor burned out and it went downhill from there. I decided to do away with the bags and put some coils in the back, after alot of research I found http://www.suspension-alternatives.com/ I got 2 rear springs for $190 delivered to my door in about 3 days. The install was easy and only took about 2 hours doing it by myself. For now I left the air shocks in the front till I can scrounge up some more money, in the mean time I cranked my torsions up maybe an inch or two to level the truck out and I have no problems at all with it and suprising enough the ride quality is still awesome, if air ride is a 10, those coils are a 9. Hope this helps!
