CEL light on after high flows installed

Is there any way to fix this? the CEL is on after having my high flows installed and i know its because of the o2 sensor. The guy who installed em said the o2 sensor was in the stock cats and had to put it "into" the new cats, now behind it like ive read here. Help please

first you might wanna take it to autozone or who ever does the free computer check, then read the code and see why its on, it will probably be the same thing fordtruckin' has, running lean, and i have no idea how to fix the lol, maybe replace all 4 sensors, he said he replaced the front 2 and it fixed it for a little bit, then started doing it again, then he replaced the DPFE and its fixed, ive had my hi flows on for a good while and no CEL yet
hope this helps

Aren't you the same guy that said this wouldn't happen when I asked this question in an earlier thread? Great information. Glad I havent gone through with it yet. I guess if you can't give correct information maybe you shouldnt be giving any at all...

"you buy the hi flows, take them to the exhaust shop, tell the guy to cut all 4 cats off and weld the 2 hi flows on there, and he will do this, and he will be happy about it, and you will be happier, and you will pay, and drive off, and enjoy your new sounding exhaust,

and no it wont throw a code, and by mess with the 02 sensors what do you mean. you wont need to change the 02's if you replace with hi flows, ive had my hi flows on for about a month now, and it took the Check engine light off (i had no cats) and it hasnt came back on...so no you wont run into any problems"

ahh yes i forgot about this, out of everyone that has gotten hi flows how many have the CEL came on? 2 that i know of, mine hasnt, so the reason i told you it wouldnt come on is because theres something different, fordtruckin's DPFE had to be replaced, but at 202,000 miles it was about time anyways, anything could happen you know

Did you try disconnecting your battery for a few minutes. Sometimes when the computer is seeing different info coming in from the sensors all of a sudden it will throw a code. When you discoinnect the battery and let the memory clear it will see the new info and think it is normal.

This is of course if everything is in working order and within the stock programs parameters for tuneability.

If you bought cats that need an O2 sensor mounted in them, then thats your own bad that the CEL is on. Your supposed to get regular 2.5" hi-flow cats and have the front sensors infront of the cats, and rears behind them.. So dont dog on F150fellas advice whe n you bought the wrong cats.

Yes, I did have problems after installing high flows, but mine wasn't just the CEL on but the truck actually ran bad. After I replaced the front two O2 sensors it did run better for a while but the CEL was still on from time to time reading Lean. I wasn't worried about the CEL until the truck was running bad again which was P0402 so I replaced the DPFE and now there's no CEL and the truck runs perfect at 202,500 miles. So don't throw parts at it and get the CEL code and let us know. Does the truck run like it did before the cat swap?

I swapped mine out and didn't have any CEL problems. Maybe the guy damaged the sensors during the install? Just a thought.
