whats louder

Right now i am running a cat back 2 single in single out 40 series and i was wondering would a single in dual outlet be louder because im just ready for a new tone

No it would be quieter. I would either swap out those 40's out with some Super 44's or i would throw on some 11" Maggy's like DarrenWs6. While you're at it go ahead and get a x pipe. That is what I would do and want to do but $$$ pending

Nope, like skooba said, throw on some 11" Magnaflows like Darren's or 14" like mine. I've also got high flow cats and an x-pipe. Sound clip in my sig! Without the high flows Magnaflow may not be "louder" than flowmasters, but will be that "new tone" you're looking for. Plus you would be able to scavage more than you are from those flow-restricting-masters.

11 or 14" Magnaflows aren't going to be louder than your Flowmaster 40...

Highflow cats would make your exhaust louder and more aggressive. Throwing on a Flowmaster 10 Series would have the same affect...
