Ready to make my exhaust even louder

So I am starting to get used to my setup that I have and I want to be even louder.

EDITED for new readers.

Would high flow cats help very much?

do they change the pitch, or just the loudness?

I would just do high flow cats. Maggie 94106 would wake it up. I've had mine for 2 years and I'm going a bit louder soon with a new cat back.

1) what benefits are there? and what exactly are headers.
2) what is the price range?
3) what is the difference between long tube and short?
4) Do they make headers for my truck? 06 4.6l 2wd. I looked on obx website but i didnt see any.
5) how hard are they to install?

I searched through the first 2 pages on the forums for headers but didnt find any specific answers.
Hey.

Effectrive Search involves more that just scanning a couple pages - you need to leverage the Advanced Search feature here: https://www.f150online.com/forums/search.php

Plug in yer search terms (e.g 'headers'), a specific forum, or forums, and read away.

Here's a couple:

https://www.f150online.com/forums/ex...s-arrived.html

https://www.f150online.com/forums/ar...ow-2003-a.html

https://www.f150online.com/forums/ex...ong-tubes.html (just fyi)

AND - have you read the GREAT Sticky yet? https://www.f150online.com/forums/ex...ust-guide.html

Unfortunately, Search appears to still be partially non-functional at this momnet - you can always use Google to Search this site, though.

Good luck!

I read the exhaust guide from start to finish about a year ago when I first got my exhaust actually. I searched the exhaust guide with the keyword "headers" and only 2 results came up and neither of them explained anything about headers.
Sorry for being so lazy, i had a terrible migrain when I was researching last night .

That was my first thought but my friend told me high flo cats is a waste of time and I would be disappointed. He said to get headers. Idk who to believe

Go kick Punisher (gently)

Search does still appear partially non-functional - it's been reported.

There is a lot of info here.

This thread - posts #13 & 17 indicate that LT's can be made to work on a 4.6: https://www.f150online.com/forums/19...d-my-4-6l.html

I have them so trust me. You want sound, the cats ate your most cost efficient route. Power, then headers high flows and custom tuning. You're talking a huge difference in price between headers and cats.

ah I see. So I guess performance peddler would be the best place to get high flow cats? did you install yours? do they just make the truck louder, or does it change the pitch of the sound.

Also, it seems that the Maggie 94106's are the favorite around here. Will they fit on my 2006 4.6L? amazon says no (lol).

High flow cats for the win. I sold my original set to truck guy then did mine after. I run a true dual with high flows into an xpipe then dumped at a 45 downwards at the sides of the hitch. Lemme tell you it turns heads blocks away when cruising

Not anymore, do a search on google and compare the prices. They aren't the cheapest anymore unfortunately. It makes them louder and deeper. They need to be welded in and have the O2 bungs welded in. I am having them replaced with 94136's which are the same thing, but already have the O2 bung. I had a misfire a year ago and just want to get it replaced and fix the slight leak I get in the winter.

Do a magnaflow 94106 cat swap. Deeper, louder, and more aggression.
