I got my exhaust done last year and got some 4 inch tips. Just soon after i got em they started rusting on the inside due to the moisture from the exhaust in the mornings. I decided to call around to the exhaust shops today to see how much some stainless steel tips will cost and every place acted like i was joking with them when i asked. No one has any in stock and the last place i called said he hasnt had anyone ask for stainless steel tips in over a year and a half . Am i asking for the right thing? I even called midas and he just laughed at me and said no and asked if he could order them and he said no and hung up on me. Whats the deal???

i found these on performance peddler i want something smaller than the 4inch tips they look to big especially on a 2wd. What do yall think about these 3 1/2 inch or should i go down to a 3inch
Those are nice tips... you could get them have them welded on.

I have those very same tips on my true dual system. 3.5" is perfect size, I wouldn't go smaller at all. I had chrome tips on my first custom exhaust years back; they rust up from the inside the next day after the install and look like crap. Definitely order online and go stainless.
Here's a few pics:

i am definetly going to order them, tired of pulling up behind my truck and see the rusty inside of the tips. I put in a "best offer" on performance peddler maybe can get a good deal on em. Thanks for the pics looks awesome
[IMG][/IMG]I had exactly the opposite experience. I pulled up the prices from online sites and took them to my local custom exhaust shop. They matched the price, gave me a written warranty as to the quality of the stainless and welded them on for free! So I quess you never know unless you try. Hard times demand professional results and some times you get it with local guys.

My chrome tip's rusted in 3 yrs. SS is a lot better.
