I heard about VOLANT (?), AFE, BBK, K&N. I personally had a BBK in my mustang and I heard some good stuff about VOLANT CAI's, what does everyone else have and recommend.
I don't know if I will feel a BIG difference with the CAI installed, or should I just wait and get a level kit for the truck?

K&N 77 here. 04+ you need a tune so you dont run lean. those trucks factory run very close to lean and a CAI makes them run lean. i love my K&N. do an intake and exhuast too. you can only cram in as much air as you can get rid of. yes an intake is good for more air but an exhuast gets rid of air faster. the better ur truck inhales it needs to exhale as well.

You don't have to have a custom tune for the 4.6, just the 5.4, however, unless you do have a custom tune, you don't get much benefit from the CAI. You have to have the air/fuel tables modified to take advantage of the air available.

X's 2 on Blue jay. i forgot it was 5.4 only that run lean....once again 4.6L FTW! anyways.
yes hes right on the tuning for the A/F ratio the stock tune cannot ajust for the amount of air the CAI lets in. you will see the most benfit with a CAI/longtubes/Tuner. Just my .2cents had CAI and longtubes on my trucks stock tune it was ok. got a custom tuner and it ajusted for all the bolt ons i have and oh buddy. now my truck barks into 2nd gear.
again just my .2cents tryin to help you out from my own trail and errors.
all the CAI listed on here are great. oiled or non oild dont matter i love my K&N 77 and the recharge kits.

I currently have a Flowmaster SiDo exhaust system..was thinking bout going with some long tube headers, but i was thinking bout the dual system. I think since it doesn't really matter without a tune, I might explore more on what to get.
The AFE one sounds good, I need to look that up and the K&N one sounds sweet to. I'll look into those...
