im getting an exhaust and intake for xmas and need to know if intakes are bolt on and easy to install? like something i could do in my garage.
and i want to get a flowmaster 40 series muffler but i want the whole kit? ive only seen the 50 series in the kit. anyone know if they make a kit with the 40 series for a 01 screw 2wd
you dont get any extra HP from getting a cat back kit vs buying the muffler and having a shop weld it up, and increasing the pipe size. and no, they dont make a 40 series cat back for an F150.
really?? cause some exhaust place said if i get the whole kit ill get like 10-15 hp? or will i get that with a muffler too?
They're pitching you with a sales b/s. Or are trying to make you waste money. Buy a muffler and tip(s) of your choice, and go get it installed for $150 or so. And go with the Super 44 over the 40.
ha no. your gonna get 2-3 HP. the only difference between a cat back system and buying a muffler and having the pipe size increased to whatever inlet outlet your going with, is bolt on vs weld. your paying for the convenience of doing it in ur garage, vs having a shop go to work with the welder.

+1 muffler shop install over kit
-1 super 44,
-1 delta flow 40
+2 original 40! or standard 40 I guess they call now
With the kit you do get mandrel bent pipe, but it's not worth the extra $

I'm not sure on the super 40, but the 44 will be much more raspy and higher pitched than the original 40. The delta flow 40 just doesn't impress me at all. It's a mellow version of the original 40. The original is the set standard "flowmaster" sound.

Super 40 is a beefed up 40 series delta, it has the same internal design in the same 5x9.5x13 case, but thicker plates with thinner flanges to give a deeper sound.
The super 44 sounds the deepest and loudest out of any I have heard, the only Flowmaster worth buying imo.

yeah ive heard of the roush kit but i dont want to spend that much since i found out you dont get any extra hp or anything from a full kit so now im just getting muffler and have my uncle weld it on since he knows how to do all that stuff.
but if i wanted to get an si/do muffler could i just go to hard ware store and buy some tubing have it bent? or is it special tubing
