Both are 4.75x9x13 case bodies. In 2005 the Original 40 was discontinued from Flowmaster, in 2006 they designed the Super 44 and in March 2007 They released it based on the Original 40, just improved more. After complains for a year Late 2008 they re-introduced the Original 40 and it is called the 'Standard 40'. Its the same Original 40 with Standard replacing Original.

learned something new there, makes since now

44's don't sound any louder, but they do have a raspier sound, and not as deep sounding. If you like the deep flowmaster rumble, get original 40's!

flows sound good, my buddy has a nice set up, i just dont like the drone in the cab, i would def. consider that as a huge factor before you switch.

Mine doesn't drone at all. It did before I installed tail pipes. I don't know for sure, but I think the stock cats has to do with the high drone levels in the cab.

Your deaf right? I just watched your videos, and on your interior video, my living room wall vibrated because of the deep drone from your interior vid

The video makes it worse than what it really is. Maybe I am deaf?? I ran this other set up for about year. No cats, H pipe, and pipes cut off after the 40's (no turn downs, mufflers at rear of cab). It sounds quiet to me after that!
