Just picked up my 3" High flow cats and gonna have them installed on monday afternoon.
just wanted to make sure im not missing anything before i get them done.
my plan is to have the shop cut off my exhaust between the manifolds and my muffler (3" bullet) and install the new cats and 3" pipe from the manifolds to the muffler with the 02 sensors after the cats. this way when i can afford headers they will be easier to install
sounds like im missing anything?

I think you got it. I believe the cats need to be fairly close to manifolds so they can get up to proper temp to operate correctly. O2s need to be close to the rear of cats also.

You think I'm gonna loose alot of back pressure with the 3"?
Not too sure, but 3" is thick to run on a N/A small block. You can try it and find out yourself the sure answer. I know for sure your engine wont like it towing.
Your not going to blow up or anything. I think he is just saying that your low end torque curve won't be quite as impressive with 3", but by god it will sound good!
