Exhaust wanted but dont want to spend $1000 for the magnaflow kit

I was under the impression that you had to buy the whole kit for things to look / sound the way you want it to....But i think im most likely very wrong... Can i have a new exhaust done for cheap by just buying hiflow mufflers and 3" tips and have a muffler shop do the rest? whats the scoop on this because if it's less than $500 ill do it like now~!

Yes sir you can get a bada$$ system for 500 and under. What do you want? SiSo Sido dido or true dual? Make sure you know the pipe sizes for each of those. Buy whatever muffler(s) and tip(s) you want online through many vendors (summit racing, performance peddler, amazon, jegs, eBay, etc. Have a shop weld everything together the way you want.

Don't want to spend $1000 on just a crummy kit? Then don't buy one, buy the main components and have a shop build you one.

MBRP SI/SO XP Series from truckcustomizers for around $350 shipped. Full stainless and sounds outstanding. And you can install it yourself in a couple hours or less.

I couldn't beat this price anywhere local. Hell, no one I called local would even do stainless mandrel bent tubing.

ok, wait a min. I'm still trying to wrap my head around a grand worth of piping and steel for an exhaust...really?

Call local shops and get quotes. Don't go with the first guy, shop around. Down here you can get a tru-dual set up with everything for around $500. But it can also be had much cheaper at some "shady shops" that most wont go to, personally those are my favorites.

it will be cheaper to go the custom route. 1k is way to high for any magnaflow system. Checkout hottexhaust.com or autoanything.com. You should be able to get a magnaflow catback in the 500 range.

Make sure that the shop you are using offers Mandrel Bends. You don't want crimped bent pipes.
