Throttle Body Spacer

Hello,

I have a question about throttle body spacers. They sounded like a waste of money to me until one of my friends at work told me that he had one and it worked well on his truck.

Is there anybody here who has one of these installed on a 5.4? My mods so far are gotts intake, k&n drop in, and flowmaster exhaust, and soon to come gryphon programmer.

dont waste your time. also if you search you'll find many people that are not happy with them and say they are a waste of money.

Don't listen to these guys, they are worth every penny. You will gain around 20HP for a spacer.

Don't spoil this just yet.

Just 20?

I think the one I had on my truck added 100HP. It actually made my truck too fast and I had to take it off.

The reality is that they don't do anything other than lighten your wallet. A quick search will turn up many threads on this.

100hp? you musta had a nos sticker on there as well

but really the only thing they do is make annoying noises and drain your wallet as said above. the only thing i've seen them do is take the slack out of the throttle cable and you end up opening the throttle more than you use to without realizing it and you end up thinking you've gained power. people will believe what they want. but its a proven fact that tb spacers do nothing for port fuel injected engines unless the throttle wasnt opening all the way before the tb spacer.

Sometimes it's hard for people to admit they wasted time and money on a useless product.

Okay guys. I appreciate the advice. It was as I thought. They don't work on the 5.4.

I admit I wasted my $$ on it and tried it, but I also admit I sold it on ebay for only $5 less than I paid for it, and got that back on shipping!
