I should pass right?

im due for inspection this month here in New Jersey and we have emmisions. i have 2 high flow cats in place of where my 4 were. this should pass correct? and also 2 years ago when it got inspected they looked under the hood for whatever reason, it was stock then but now has an intake, and a tuner, but thats not in the truck. just want to make sure im ok with everything, if not ill have to pay for private inspection somewhere. thanks

Could be, as long as they dont say you must have 4 since it originally came with 4. I'm great friends with my mechanic so inspections are not an issue with me.

your intake and tuner wont have anything to do with visual inspection. your high flows COULD be the only issue. let us know

I thought since you decided on hi-flows you got the ok from somewhere that it would be a pass. Hopefully your inspector will like the sound as much as I do an pass you regardless.

Well thats good, in PA emissions counties they check every square inch for illegal parts. If your exhaust isn't too smelly it should be good, which I doubt it is because Magnaflow catalysts do as good as OEM. But if its a bit too loud they might have someone look under, thats the only thing I could think of.

hey 4wd im down in south jersey and they are absolutly a pain in the butt. i just had to go get my 02 inspected and they looked under the truck and everything and then they gave me a hard time because i have it dumped under the truck even though its 100% legal. it says that you must have the same amount of cats that came from the factory which would be 4. since you only have two you wont pass if they go under and look. i really think its all luck if they look underneath or not. good luck to you man and let me know what happens.

You can always move to Oregon... We don't have inspections... Here, in the southern part of the state you can do just about anything you want to your truck...

im a licensed inspector in TEXAS, so depending on how your converter law you should pass. in texas the book states you must have one converter per exhaust pipe.

and we check under the hood to make sure nothings leaking/exposed wires

harris is a emissions county, im not 100% sure on emissions inspections. im not licensed for that. i THINK if you replace all 4 with new converters, make sure you have no exhaust leaks then you might should pass.

you may wanna start a thread to get more answers from other people who have done this. i know all i have to have is 1 converter per pipe, visual inspection, as far as emission laws im unsure
