running truck w/o muffler?

Hey guys i just received my new Roush off road cat-back today and was going to install it in the morning. I wanted to take audio of the stock exhaust, no muffler then the new Roush. The question is can i run the truck with no muffler for a lil bit with out it throwing codes or messing something up?

yup, you can run it without the muffler as long as you want/need.

Oh i forgot. To go along with my previous post, is there some kind of break in period for the new exhaust where i shouldn't go hard on it, or can i lay into it right away?

theres no specific way to break in a muffler, just drive it like you want to. it'll get louder as you put miles on it.

Running no muffler is 100% safe, the interior of the Roush is straight through which is just like running straight.

The muffler will burn in on its own time, dont be worried about breaking in it will do it all on its own.

his stats in the upper right indicate 04 F150 so its the 4 cat 3v

that wont be too loud at all.

you'll most likely lose some bottom end torque.

I just cut off my muffler a few weeks ago...no noticeable difference in power or fuel mileage. Sounds great IMO. I say dump your exhaust and use the money saved to upgrade your suspension!
